Bhagat Ravidas

A medieval poet, saint, devotee, and reformer. Bhagat Ravidas was born in Banaras. His writings reflect a deep sense of humanity and divine love. Forty hymns composed by him are included in the Guru Granth Sahib, set in sixteen different musical modes (Raags).

Bhagat Ravidas was a mystic poet and saint of the Bhakti movement in medieval Punjabi literature. He is revered as a spiritual guru in the modern regions of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Bhagat Ravidas's hymns are composed in 16 ragas in the form of 40 Shabads.
