In medieval Punjabi literature, Bhagat Kabir Ji was a mystic poet and saint of the Bhakti movement. His writings greatly influenced the Bhakti movement. His hymns are recorded in 16 ragas in the Guru Granth Sahib as 537 shlaokas, shabads and ashtapadis.
