Ali Akbar Natiq

A renowned Urdu poet, writer, novelist, and short-story writer from West Punjab. Besides Urdu, he also writes in Punjabi.

Ali Akbar Natiq was born on 15 August 1976 in Okara, Pakistan. Within a very short span of time, he established a distinct and strong identity at the international level. His writings are being translated into many languages. His published works include the short-story collections Qayamdeen, Shah Muhammad Ka Tanga, Kachche Gharon Ki Kahaniyan and Bangle Ki Baoli; the poetry collections Beyaqeen Bastiyon Mein, Yaqut Ke Waraq, and Sabz Bastiyon Ke Ghazaal; and the novels Nau Lakhi Kothi, Kufa Ke Musafir, and Kumari Wala. His autobiography is titled Aabad Huay Barbaad Huay.

Besides Urdu, Ali Akbar Natiq also writes in the Punjabi language. Although his Punjabi writings have not yet appeared in book form, his works continue to be published from time to time. Besides writing, Natiq is also a skilled architect by profession.
